Online Repair Booking for Phone and Gadget Repair Shops
Gadgets POS includes online repair booking software for your web shop. Customers choose a repair, pick a store and a time slot and book it themselves, with reminders and links to reschedule or cancel. They can also send a device by post as a mail-in repair. Your staff see every booking and its history.
Last reviewed:Repair booking software: customers book a repair online
A customer with a cracked screen at ten at night does not want to wait until your shop opens to find out whether you can help. The Repair section of your web shop lets them look at what you repair, see the price, and book an appointment there and then.
The booking arrives in the same system as the rest of your work, so it is not another inbox to check. If you would like to read about the repair side of the till, see phone repair shop software.
Pick a store and a time slot
If you have more than one shop, the customer picks the store they want to visit, then picks a date and time slot on a calendar. A store locator can find the nearest shop from a postcode.
Time slots follow fixed opening hours in London time: 10:00 to 17:00 from Monday to Saturday and 10:30 to 16:00 on Sundays. There is no limit on how many bookings a slot can take, and holidays cannot be blocked out yet. If you need configurable hours or capacity per slot, that is not built today, and it is better to know that before you start.
Reminders, reschedule and cancel links
Customers get a confirmation email, and an automatic reminder before the appointment. Each email carries links to reschedule or cancel, so a customer who cannot come does not have to ring the shop. That cuts down on no-shows and on phone calls whose only purpose is moving a time.
Mail-in repairs with postage choice and issue photos
Not every customer lives near a shop. A mail-in repair lets them describe the fault, upload photos of the problem, choose a postage method and send the device to you. Postage here is a method choice: Gadgets POS does not create postage labels or connect to couriers, so the label side is handled by you or the customer.
Repair order emails keep the customer informed as the job progresses on your web shop channel.
Repair price list on your web shop
A price list on your site answers the first question most customers ask. You set the repairs you offer and the prices, and customers see them before booking. A clear list also helps search engines understand what you repair. The guide to pricing phone repairs shows how to think about the numbers, and POS with an online shop shows how the repair section fits with Buy and Sell.
Staff see every booking and its history
In the dashboard your staff see every booking, with its status and history: when it was made, rescheduled or cancelled. That means the person at the counter can answer a customer's question without hunting for the original email. Once the device is in your hands, the job is tracked as described on repair management software.
Questions about repair booking
Can customers cancel or reschedule themselves?
Yes. Booking confirmation and reminder emails carry links to reschedule or cancel, so customers can change their appointment without contacting the shop. Your staff can see each booking and its history in the dashboard, including when it was moved or cancelled.
Can I limit bookings per slot?
No. Time slots follow fixed opening hours in London time and there is no limit on bookings per slot. Holidays and closures cannot be blocked out yet either. Gadgets POS does not offer configurable opening hours or slot capacity today, so if you rely on either, raise it in a demo before you decide.
Do customers get reminders?
Yes. Customers receive a confirmation and an automatic reminder email before the appointment, each with links to reschedule or cancel. Reminders are emails, not text messages: Gadgets POS does not send SMS to customers. Emails are sent from your own email settings when you have configured them.
Can I take mail-in repairs?
Yes. Customers can describe the fault, add photos of the issue, choose a postage method and send the device to you. Gadgets POS does not generate postage labels or connect to couriers, so labels and tracking are handled by you or the customer. Repair order emails keep the customer informed.
